We combined our expertise in working with many different edge environments into a singular platform: aicas EdgeSuite.
With this platform software and data management, and AI model implementations are brought together in one control plane enabling adapative and efficient cloud operations.

The People Behind aicas
aicas brings together an international team of engineers, technology experts, and business leaders with deep experience in embedded software, connected systems, as well as enterprise technology. Across Germany, the United States, India, and other locations, our teams combine technical depth with market expertise to build and scale technology for complex, mission-critical environments.
James co-founded aicas in 2001 with the conviction that embedded systems would become fundamental to the future of technology. More than two decades later, he continues to shape the company’s technology vision as CEO and CTO.
With more than 30 years of experience in software, James brings deep expertise in realtime systems, distributed computing, programming languages, and safety-critical embedded systems. His career spans research at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, contributions to avionics software safety standards, and the development of technologies for increasingly intelligent and connected systems.
Silicon Valley had just hit the DOTCOM bust, but we thought embedded systems would bloom in the heart of Industrial Germany. We were enthusiastic about the possibilities that embedded software has to offer and we still are – now with an added focus on reliable realtime Edge Solutions connecting to the cloud for valuable business outcomes. That is why we founded aicas.
Johannes leads the scaling of aicas and its position within the global embedded and Edge AI ecosystem. He works closely with customers, technology partners, and industry leaders to translate aicas’ deep technical expertise into sustainable business value and strategic collaboration.
His career spans nearly 30 years in international technology markets, including leadership roles at Hewlett Packard and Siemens, with experience across corporate strategy, management consulting, product management, marketing, and operations in the United States and Germany.
